महान दार्शनिक सुकरात के अनमोल विचार

Dear friends सुकरात एक शास्त्रीय यूनानी दार्शनिक और विचार की पश्चिमी नैतिक परंपरा का पहला नैतिक दार्शनिक होने के नाते पश्चिमी दर्शनशास्त्र के संस्थापकों में से एक के रूप में श्रेय दिया गया था। 
आज जानते हैं उनके अनमोल विचार...

• An honest man is always a child.

एक ईमानदार आदमी हमेशा एक बच्चा होता है.

• All men’s souls are immortal, but the souls of the righteous are immortal and divine.

हर व्यक्ति की आत्मा अमर होती है, लेकिन जो व्यक्ति नेक होते हैं उनकी आत्मा अमर और दिव्य होती है

• As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.

जहाँ तक मेरा सवाल है, मैं बस इतना जानता हूँ कि मैं कुछ नहीं जानता.

• As to marriage or celibacy, let a man take which course he will, he will be sure to repent.

शादी या ब्रह्मचर्य, आदमी चाहे जो भी रास्ता चुन ले, उसे बाद में पछताना ही पड़ता है.

• Be slow to fall into friendship; but when thou art in, continue firm and constant.

मित्रता करने में धीमे रहिये, पर जब कर लीजिये तो उसे मजबूती से निभाइए और उसपर स्थिर रहिये.

• Death  be the greatest of all human blessings.

मृत्यु संभवतः मानवीय वरदानो में सबसे महान है.

• By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll become happy; if you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.

चाहे जो हो जाये शादी कीजिये. अगर अच्छी पत्नी मिली तो आपकी ज़िन्दगी खुशहाल रहेगी ; अगर बुरी पत्नी मिलेगी तो आप दार्शनिक बन जायेंगे.

• Beauty is a short-lived tyranny.

सौंदर्य एक अल्पकालिक अत्याचार है.

• Where there is reverence there is fear, but there is not reverence everywhere that there is fear, because fear presumably has a wider extension than reverence.

जहाँ सम्मान है वहां डर है,पर ऐसी हर जगह सम्मान नहीं है जहाँ डर है, क्योंकि संभवतः डर सम्मान से ज्यादा व्यापक है.

• The greatest way to live with honor in this world is to be what we pretend to be.

इस दुनिया में सम्मान से जीने का सबसे महान तरीका है कि हम वो बनें जो हम होने का दिखावा करते हैं.

• Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.

हमारी प्रार्थना बस सामान्य रूप से आशीर्वाद के लिए होनी चाहिए, क्योंकि भगवान जानते हैं कि हमारे लिए क्या अच्छा है.

• Not life, but good life, is to be chiefly valued.

ज़िन्दगी नहीं, बल्कि एक अच्छी ज़िन्दगी को महत्ता देनी चाहिए.

• From the deepest desires often come the deadliest hate.

अधिकतर आपकी गहन इच्छाओं से ही घोर नफरत पैदा होती है.

• False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.

झूठे शब्द सिर्फ खुद में बुरे नहीं होते, बल्कि वो आपकी आत्मा को भी बुराई से संक्रमित कर देते हैं.

• Employ your time in improving yourself by other men’s writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for.

अपना समय औरों के लेखों से खुद को सुधारने में लगाइए, ताकि आप उन चीजों को आसानी से जान पाएं जिसके लिए औरों ने कठिन मेहनत की है.

• He is richest who is content with the least, for content is the wealth of nature.

वो सबसे धनवान है जो कम से कम में संतुष्ट है, क्योंकि संतुष्टि प्रकृति कि दौलत है.

• It is not living that matters, but living rightly.

सिर्फ जीना मायने नहीं रखता, सच्चाई से जीना मायने रखता है.

• I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing.

मैं सभी जीवित लोगों में सबसे बुद्धिमान हूँ, क्योंकि मैं ये जानता हूँ कि मैं कुछ नहीं जानता हूँ.

• Worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live.

मूल्यहीन व्यक्ति केवल खाने और पीने के लिए जीते हैं; मूल्यवान व्यक्ति केवल जीने के लिए खाते और पीते हैं.
